From Research DEPT® · Pilot

Start curious.
Leave with focus.

The Research Desk is a self-serve research space for DEPT strategists. Bring a question, even a half-formed one, and it explores some of the research team's best data sources to show you what the evidence says, where it runs out and where to go next.

Connect the dots. Find your focus.

For the moment before the brief, when you know there's a question but not yet what it is.

1

Ask

Say what you're trying to understand and the decision it feeds. Fuzzy is fine; the Desk plays back what it heard and what it'll look for.

2

Explore

It searches the sources, opens the ones that fit and shows you the actual numbers, each with its source, dates, market and who was asked. Then a short first read, and the gaps.

3

Focus

Dig deeper with follow-ups, ask for springboards, take it all into your own AI tools, or turn it into a ready-made request for the research team.

What's inside

Right now the Desk draws on Statista's published charts, market models and consumer surveys. More of the research team's sources are on the way.

What it isn't (yet)

It doesn't have the mighty minds of the research team. It won't run a survey, sit in your workshop or argue with your hypothesis over coffee.

It's the best seat we can give you while they're busy. When you need the real thing, it helps you write the brief.

Request access

The Desk is a pilot, open to a small group of DEPT colleagues while we learn what works. Tell us who you are and the first question you'd bring, and Ben and Pin from the research team will get back to you.

Already have access? Sign in with your DEPT email.

We'll only use this to reply to you and to see who's interested in the Desk.
